In addition to several gifted pianists and organists, St. John is blessed with many individuals who enhance our worship experience with their musical talents. If you too enjoy singing or playing an instrument to praise and glorify God, please consider joining one of these small supportive groups who share your passion.

 

Cantata Choir (Currently suspended due to COVID-19)

Weekly September to May

Rehearsals on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. during Advent and Lent)

Worship Service on Sunday (Weeks 1-3, 5) at 9:00 a.m.

The Cantata Choir performs anthems during worship services, prepares a special cantata for Christmas, and sings at Easter Resurrection Celebration Services.

 

Joyful Noize (Currently suspended due to COVID-19)

Once Per Month Year Round

No Rehearsal: Emailed Music and Practice Before Service

Worship Service on Sunday (Week 4) at 9:00 a.m.

A team of vocalists accompanied by the keyboard and guitar lead the singing of upbeat versions of classical hymns and popular praise songs.

 

Special Soloists and Ensembles (Currently suspended due to COVID-19)

Seasonal: Christmas & Easter

Rehearsal Time at a Mutually Agreeable Time

Worship Service on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

If you are a vocalist or instrumentalist looking for a short-term commitment, St. John is willing to draw upon your talent seasonally or when your schedule permits. We welcome guest vocalists and instrumentalists and form special ensembles to enhance our worship at Christmas and Easter. If you are away at college, this is the perfect opportunity for you to stay plugged in when home on breaks.
